Lake Isabella Trout Derby 2011

over $250,000 in prizes!
(register now, online registration closes Wed April 13, 2011 at 9:00 pm)

Countdown to the 22nd Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby

It is finally here!
What is being called the world's largest amateur

trout derby, the Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is

now in its 22nd year. Held at one of largest fresh

water lakes in southern California, located less

than three hours north of the Los Angeles area. With

over $250,000 in prizes up for grabs, the 2011

event is looking to be the best yet. A drawing

for a Lowe 170 Stinger Boat will be held on

Monday, April 18, 2011. A limited number of

tickets are available.

We have been going to this tournament for several years now and it is always a good time.

With my fybromyalgia and arthritis, it takes quite a toll on my body to do this camping experience at Isabella with all of the walking up and down hills and climbing around the rocks, but it seems like every year I still find myself there :) The majority of people fish off of the shore line and we don't take the boat--the wind at Lake Isabella is always lurking and it's just easier to fish from the bank. So this year the wind was no exception. It came up early Sunday and we ended up leaving early as the fishing still hadn't picked up. We saw one kid in our area who caught a $100 fish, and very few people were catching anything. We caught two Saturday evening and I felt like we got skunked until we got home and our next door neighbor told us that he and his group hadn't caught any fish nor did they see any one catching anything. (They always stay on the other side of the lake.) The tournament doesn't end until 6 o'clock this evening,,,,so hopefully today those tagged trout are biting for some lucky angler who is still up there :)

Chloes' first fishing trip with mom and dad and the rest of the " get-a-long " gang :)
We usually take Bill and Brownie but this year Nugget was our fishing " mascot"
Dad telling one of his fish stories
                                                         Sweet Sarah Jane

ALL SALES FINAL---No Remorse Or Refunds Now ---My new Policy

All sales Final..NO refunds...

Unless the item has been damaged in shipping

(I have recently changed this policy and this is why...)

I consider myself a responsible buyer and seller

If I take the time to photograph, describe, and list an item...

I also expect buyers to show the same type of consideration :) And if they have any doubts or questions?....I expect buyers to ask those questions BEFORE they buy. :)

I can not anticipate whatever expectations that certain buyers may have..but I CAN expect buyers to LOOK and ASK if they have any doubts or questions at all...BEFORE you make the purchase here :)

Dang..I almost feel bad about changing the policy but the times they are a changin' and I feel it isn't about the customer is always right is about doing what is right..and that is why I have a no refund policy now....
"STOP LOOK ASK and QUESTION before you click the BUY"----
and if you do that as a responsible buyer---
there should be no reasons for a refund to be offered :)

Ollie and Sven

My Cuz sent me this joke today...I got a good laugh from it ! :)

Two Minnesota mechanical engineers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walks by and asks what they were doing. 'We're supposed to find the height of the flagpole,' said Sven, 'but we don't have a ladder. The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocketbook, took a measurement, announced, 'Eighteen feet, six inches, and walked away. Ollie shook his head and laughed. 'Ain't that just like a woman! We ask for the height and she gives us the length!' Sven and Ollie are currently working for the United States Government.

PernillasSS On Etsy OMG !!! The Best Spring Surprise Anyone Could Hope for

My Sweet friend Pennie @

Has some of the most fabulous TREATS  items THAT I have found yet on Etsy!  She really is one of the genuinely nicest people I have connected with on the site to this day :)

Some certain people in the BNRs on Etsy have treated her badly...and have taken advantage of her genuine kindess (and her expectations that if you treat someone right you will receive that same sort of treatment in return) but sadly on Etsy there are some you will encounter with other motives including self promotion that involves sellers selling in the same category to be attacked.

I AM sooo Sorry this happened to you on the Etsy site Pennie!!!
because I think that ..anyone who has come into contact with this most lovely individual will be touched by her true heart and absolutely fantastic fabulous items!

I Luv this  BEAUTIFUL LADY!!!!!!  And I think you should check out her shop!!!

I Expect An Answer In The Morning?

Pres Obama expects an answer in the morning----- but.....

Okay all I can say about this is what I feel....
My question is this...why does it always get down to the 'last day'  before everything just starts "shutting" down?
What I would expect are answers every day and I would think that the majority of Americans feel this way...
our "leaders" should have this all figured out WAAAY before the "last" minute----
For example .......thinking as simply a layman...
in a real business world...if a situation actually really got this bad--the entire CREW would be FIRED SENT HOME and REPLACED with a crew who could actually do their JOB--
I would suggest....
stop all the "lobbying" for big business...stop all the fake crap that has nothing to do with the good of the American people as a nation...nip it in the bud----
If you all can't do what is right for our country and preserve the "American dream" for our children and grandchildren....
then I say drag your sorry arses back home...quit your day job..and let someone else who is not influenced by the lobbyists and big business and whoever else is padding your pocket---do your job that you haven't been doing...

I am soooo sick of a government that "works" if the wheels are greased and concessions are made..

If they can't come to a real deal "path" that benefits our country----we should make a new ammendment to the constitution---
"Fail to Pass a Budget Plan Before the Deadline"   You are all FIRED.... GO HOME !!!!!

That's what I expect as an American Citizen.......yah-----that's me
I love my country and proud to be an American...but as an American I expect the problems to be solved "BEFORE" the dead-line
very simple expectation..meee thinks <3!

The Recession Hitting Hard

Once again my cuz sent me an e-mail that I simply had to share here! It really made me laugh! :)

" The recession has hit everybody really hard...

...My neighbor got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.

...CEO's are now playing miniature golf.

...Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.

...A stripper was killed when her audience showered her with rolls of pennies while she danced.

...I saw a Mormon with only one wife.

...The bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," and you call them to ask if they meant you or them.

...Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names.

...My cousin had an exorcism but couldn't afford to pay for it, so the Church re-possessed her!

...A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico.

...When Bill and Hillary travel together, they now share a room.

...Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal. Oh Great! The guy who made $50 Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 Trillion disappear!

And, finally...

...I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan, and, when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, asked if I could drive a truck."
Now that's a pretty "Hard Hit" ain't it :)!!

Pass It On America Check The Cans

Okay I am not really sure of the "original" person who generated this e-mail that was forwarded to me today but I am glad "Betty" started it and

it really made me stop and think about how much a big impact that it would be if all Americans only did a small bit of "concentrated and selective buying" and how that it would truly stimulate our economy here when it finally trickles down to American workers "working" and "buying" more things is the e-mail...(yes it talks about a boy-cott that "expired" a few days ago but the idea is to keep passing it on yes?...

Here is the e-mail I received today

Check the Cans

Did you all see that Diane Sawyer has a special report coming up this week on this very subject. They removed ALL items from a typical, middleclass family’s home, that were not made in the USA. There was hardly anything left besides the kitchen sink. Literally. During the special they are going to show truckloads of items – USA made – being brought in to replace everything. And will be talking about how to find these items and the difference in price etc.

It was interesting that Diane said that if every American spent just $64 (more than normal) on USA made items this year, it would create something like 200,000 new jobs.

Made ME think!

Check the Can

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets.

Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China ' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS: If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our!

The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on March. 4th and continue it until April. 4th That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, March. 4th to April. 4th---and don’t stop there!

Send this to everybody you know. Let's show them that we are Americans and NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month out of our lives, WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, America.
