I wanted to share my license plate that I purchased the graphics for on Zibbet from Judy @ PortableGraffitiGraphics
I have been so pleased with all of the items that I have received from Judy......and she has great prices on all of her stuff!
Kinda funny story...the day I got these in hubby put one on his truck and one on my car...later that afternoon I was talking to my dad and he told me that his friend had just gotten a ticket for not having a license plate on the front of her car. I said "Dad...I didn't think we had to have a front plate here..when did that start?" ... So he tells me it was a long time ago when they started having the cameras at intersections and stop lights.....duh....makes sense LOL!..So hubby and I put our front license plates back on and stuck these vanity plates in our back windows... (kinda makes me feel like Bud and Sissy from "Urban Cowboy")....and hey! Some gal in the parking lot at Target already asked me "What is Zibbet?"
when I got into my car a couple of days ago.....so as time goes by I know it will be another great way to spread some of that Zibbet luv around!
If any of you out there have something you want to share or advertise with others....check out the link to Judys' shop---my license plate template was only $15!
Thanks again Judy!

Pyometra and why you should get your dog fixed if you don't plan on breeding them anymore
Okay...I know I have posted several things about the dogs that hubby and I have come to know and love...
On my "dog days of summer" post I talked about how my own "dog family grew from Zero to 6" in the blink of an eye...
And in this economy many people are happy to be able to simply have the ability to still be feeding their pets and to still have them----much more to be able to afford the vet visits and bills----
My son just rescued an adorable puppy they named "Daisy" from the "Kill Shelter" and I looked at this little puppy on Christmas like it was a new little "child" in my family :)--
But my little rambling tonight is the one about how where you think you are going to save $ but then it eventually ends up biting you big time in the be-hiney (big foot kind of nature) deal ...
The day I told my hubby that I knew we simply couldn't have any more dogs in our house---
We looked at the options---
And the $ it was going to cost us in the next few years---
So I came up with the conclusion that because in my town it costs $60 a year to license dogs who are not spaded and because it was much cheaper to have our "boy" dogs fixed...we got the boys done---
And I want to add another lesson we learned here (trying to save some $)...
Bill Dance Jr. and Brownie Boy--we sent to our regular vet with the "regular prices"...and at that time my momma was still alive and she always was on the look-out for ways to save money...and she told me about a deal on "wheels" where you basically get 2 dogs spaded for the price of 1----so hubby was off from work on those days and we scheduled to send "Nugget" and "Hairy Puffy Potter" for the "two-fer"---great deal and great program----but then guess what happened?
Yep Harry and Nugget came back fine and dandy and a couple of days later they started "coughing" and dang----a few days after this all of our dogs were having this strange cough...and yep---we ended up getting all 6 dogs to the vet and treated for "kennel cough"...and the vet bills ended up costing waaaaaay more than the $ we saved sending our little boy dogs on that "2-fer trip"---
okay ...so the boys were all fixed at this point and I knew there would be no more babies----but seriously if I had known that the boys could still do the "wild thaaang" when the girls were in "heat"---I would have "re-thunk" my reasoning for getting them fixed at a "4 is cheaper than 2 deal" in the first place :)-----
So 2 months ago when our girls---"Molly" and "Candy"---(my moms' dogs actually that I had inherited)----anyways---when it was $60 a year each to license them..hubby and I talked again about "we should just get them fixed also"-----but then the Holidays and expenses etc.etc. yada yada--
And now...2 days ago Molly dolly threw up a couple of times---and it was "green stuff" ..sometimes our dogs eat grass and throw this kind of stuff up so no big deal at first...
Then Molly was turning her nose up about treats...then wouldn't eat and was just laying around and would only get up to drink water---and this morning when I woke up she had some stuff coming out of her "ho-ho" and she got over being in heat more than a month ago--plus the fact that our boy dogs were not excited about that stuff coming out of her "ho-ho" made me know that Molly had something really wrong with her.....
Pyometra and Cystic Endometrial Hyperplasia in Dogs
The abnormal thickening (pyometra) of the uters' lining can occur in dogs at any age, although it is more common in dogs that are six years of age or older. Cystic endometrial hyperplasia, meanwhile, is a medical condition characterized by the presence of pus-filled cyst inside the dog's uterus, causing the endometrium to enlarge (also known as hyperplasia).
Prognosis is often positive for both conditions; however, if the dog's cervix is closed, it can be a life threatening condition requiring immediate medical attention.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And yes.... she had an emergency operation today....
and the estimate is $1200-$1500 at this point but she is being monitored over nite and if she gets to come home tomorrow it will be at the low end of the estimate--- I simply had to put half down for the operation :)
And it is weird----Molly is my moms' first dog that I took into my care----she has had about 4 litters of awesome pups that people still message me about and she has always been such a "good" doggie momma---- but to be honest ----Molly is my least favorite dog of all of the ones we have now---
and the reason is because when she and "Candy" had their 2nd litter about 2 days apart---Molly and Candy were "girlfriends"..Molly hadn't acted weird to Candy's 1st litter and actually "helped" Candy with them licking them and watching out for them---I never in a million years would have suspected that "Molly" killed one of Candies 2nd litter babies because Molly wanted all of them in her "den"....one nite hubby and I had to break up a "fight" where Molly was trying to grab all of Candy's babies ---I honestly know it is because Molly was such a good momma to all of hers that she had to have all of them in her "house" and thought they were all hers---- My twitter "avatar" is of "big head Fred"--and "Screaming Mimi" his sister-- was the pup I came home and grabbed out of Molly's mouth when she wanted to take her into "her house" that nite---THE 2 of them survived--but after that----
I have to be honest and say that Molly is my least favorite dog of our whole bunch----
however---when the vet today told me the price I didn't hesitate for a minute----
AND I am happy to say tonight that Molly is resting peacefully and will most likely get to come home tomorrow or on Friday-----
So much for trying to save money...LOL!..but it is what it is...and I know that Molly dolly will be very happy to see me when I pick her up and bring her home------
And I will definitely get Candy spayed ASAP!...I am just glad that Molly didn't die because we chose not to breed her but did not get her spayed:)
Get your dogs fixed because it will save you $ in the long run I guess is my rambling tonite :)
And yet it is not always about the $.....
I know that Molly "looking" at me with those big eyes and knowing that I would help her..has nada to do with $
She just knew I would be there for her and seriously I know that she has always been there for me-----
Hope ya'll are having a great week!
Pets are awesome even when they cause us worries!
----------------------------------------------------------------
post date to this post today 01-06-12 :-)....
Here is a pic of my brownie boy to the left..and Bill Dance Jr. with his "arm" on Molly dolly 2 days before I took her to the vet (she always has those dang "wild eyes" in every pic I take of her unless we are outside!) .... ...he knew his girl needed some props LOL...and Candy is sitting on the right......
And here are a few pics of the beautiful pups that Molly and Candy have brought temporarily into our lives....
As a postdate to this post....it ended up costing a little over $1,100 for the surgery...and I thought that it was really cool because Molly had to stay an extra day and it is not often that you get a quote for a procedure and the price you pay ends up being lower than the low end of the quote even if your dog ends up staying for an extra day....and the Coffee Road Animal Hospital performed this type of service!
When I get a chance I will find their link to add here because I am very happy that they were so honest with their prices and did not try to hose me when they very well could have in this situation!

RE-Selling On Etsy Since 2009....Only One Etsy Reseller Example This Eve
I have seen on some of the forums where many "posters" keep talking about about how if you report re-sellers on Etsy that they will "soon" vanish...but I sadly know this is not true...
there are too many $$$$$ signs on the horizon peeps
and that is what is really going on IMHO
I just want to give one example here....
(the re-seller at the top of my "search" list when I Just now keyed in "handmade pocket watch necklace" on Etsy)
Opened on Mar 24, 2009
Feedback: 1007, 100%
3150 sales
About this item
Handmade by ninexmuse
This is one of their items that is on Etsy
and has been on Etsy since 2009 listed in the "Handmade" category...did you notice the part about
when you look on the details of the item it says " Handmade by ninexmuse" ?
Hhmmmnnn...how many people do you think have reported this re-seller shop to Etsy admin since 2009? And the shop is still there thriving and selling tonight? Their excuse is that the re-sellers re-open under different names....but a very simple search finds this re-seller at the top of the page and this re-seller has ACTUALLY been in business there since 2009???????????......HMMMNNZZZZ
Something is very wrong with this picture LOL!( but it makes me sad at the same time )
Best of luck and best wishes to all of my Etsy friends who are still making the handmade items and selling on the venue :)

Princess Ava Cuddle Bugs Sock Monkey
I finished this little sock monkey today for a sweet little princess. I used an old vintage pillow case fabric for her dress and I had to clean the tarnish off of her little old tiny crown :) The weather was actually cheerful sunny and I spent a bit of time outside in my little garden today :) Here are the pics I took of "Princess Ava"
"I am Princess Ava Cuddle Bug
My momma knows I'm dandy
I'll lift you up with my big hugs
I'm as sweet as cotton candy! "
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope ya'll are having a very stress-free countdown to Christmas :) I still have a few more things to wrap but that's about it....heavy sigh---breathe in ...breathe out----hooray!

Some Stuff I Made From Etsy Reseller Items
So I have talked a bit about some of the Etsy reseller items that land on the front page quite often and about my feelings that the items aren't going to go away because those sellers make the venue a bunch of money.
Today I want to share a few pieces I made starting out with "pocket watch" necklaces that I bought from an Etsy RE-seller who had them listed in the "handmade " category. On these I added some vintage dominos that I made into pendants and also some vintage and newer pieces. I think the girls are going to like them:-)......
For Kira.... the wee one who already has her own sense of direction
For Taylor...one of my favorite cowgirls...
For Kacey the spirited believer....
For Allison the guitar rocking art major....
Hope ya'll are having a great week so far....OMG...only 6 more days till Christmas :-)!!!

Cats Wire On Zibbet Beautiful Handmade Crochet Wire Jewelry
I want to share a wonderful shop I found on Zibbet where I recently ordered this fabulous crochet wire bracelet and I am eagerly anticipating its' arrival all the way from Germany :)
Cat @ CatsWire
has so many beautiful items in her shop and her prices are really fantastic considering the amount of time these pieces take to create.
I know I have talked a bit about how my hands have been giving me fits lately and these days there is no way I would even attempt to make these type of items because the artistry involved requires such repetitive and intricate details. And I know that this really makes me appreciate the beauty of her work even more :-)
Here are a few pics of the items available in her shop. And if you follow the link to her shop you'll see that everything she has there is simply amazing!
Cat is such a lovely person to deal with as well and I really feel lucky to have stumbled upon her shop on Zibbet :) Just another reason why I luv luv luv Hollah! :-) Zibbet! There are so many fantabulous items there just waiting to be found.......

MamMaws sage Advice about Being NICE
My MamMaw always gave me that sage advice
"If you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all."
And seriously......
I think that is some very good advice because you simply don't want to get caught up in the negativity of any situation.
Back in the day when some of my friends would have "bad" comments or negative snipes bad-mouthing others ....I'd be the first one to jump in and say things like
"NOW Quit it all right already cuz ...I frowners on Debbie Downers!!!"......
(And these days I simply don't hang out with peeps who still have that type of "high school mentality")
But in retrospect about my MamMaw teaching me
that if I didn't have anything nice to say to not say anything at all-----
I honestly don't think she was talking about the rules regarding others who have already crossed the line...who weren't nice to you and didn't give you that same respect in the 1st place...etc etc......and I know in my life long journey that 2 wrongs definitely do not make a right----but sometimes you just have to take a stand and set the record straight and maybe what you have to say isn't exactly nice but it is just what you are saying regarding the experience of the cards you have already been dealt with....
and sometimes I really think that even if you don't have something nice to say----if it is because someone else did not follow that same type of etiquette ...
then you really owe that person nothing other than to try to be as respectful as you possibly can depending on the situation at hand and how they treated you in the first place :)
Bottom line....I think that if someone is not nice to you then you don't owe them that same type of respect..sometimes I still choose another one of something MamMaw taught me --to "Kill them with kindness"
LOL! But sometimes simply standing up and letting them know that their behavior is one that is not acceptable and never will be is a much better option even if you have to be negative about it.
And that's just my ramblin' for this lovely eve :)

Karmalization
Just a simple question I guess...
If someone is on a venue and talks about you and also "fibs" about what really happened......
and then if you go to your own blog to set the record straight and simply tell your side of what is "really going on"........(and to prevent more drama on the venue)
Is that spreading bad karma or is it
what I like to call " karma-lization" ?
When good and bad karma meet :)
Most people tell me that I have a very big heart, but I will make no apologies for this instance and if this gets someones' knickers in a knot then I guess the smartest thing to do would be for them to go back to their blog world and their own philosophies and not come back into mine :)
Easy peasy.
And by the way...if I ever have a problem with what someone else is doing I always speak to that person first about it to try and resolve it....(for example..I don't go behind their back and complain or try to get them into trouble.....I speak to them directly about it first....) and if that makes me a terrible person in someones' book then so be it. However I can't quite seem to understand the level of frustration one person had about this. And I am suspicious that there is more here than what "meets the eye". Like maybe because someone makes some of the same types of things you do and got mentioned and you haven't been mentioned yet on this venue type of thing-- I could speculate that perhaps the "green eyed monster" simply reared its' head..but that of course would only be speculation and in my book speculation falls somewhere in between "bull crap...and a slight possibility". But we all know that only in a perfect world would we ever all get along...and we are not always going to like everyone we meet. And just because someone thinks I did something wrong doesn't mean that it really was wrong and vice-versa.
And Gosh sometimes we all need a little cheese to go with that whine hee-hee
Hope ya-ll are having a great week :)

The Wooden Bowl An Inspiring E-mail
A friend of mine sent me this e-mail yesterday and it was forwarded from an "undisclosed" sender so I am sorry to say I do not know who to attribute it to but it made me smile and I wanted to share it here with you today.......
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Wooden Bowl
I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a
week from now, a month from now,
a year from now.
A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered
The family ate together at the table But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the
floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'
So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work..
The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was
dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life.'
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back sometimes.
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.
People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.
-------------------------------------------------------
Hope you enjoyed reading this and that ya'll are having a fine weekend :)

Oh Dear What Should I Fear Today? Fear Itself Perhaps? Hmnn
I have been thinking a bit about "fear" lately...how good is it?...how bad is it?.....at what point does worrying become fear? etc.etc. ...so I want to share a few of my thoughts about this here today.
When I was a kid I had two basic fears instilled in me----
#1- The FEAR of God
#2- The FEAR of "The Hand"
And it was pretty much all I needed at a young age to keep me on the straight and narrow---
You had to try to be good because if you didn't you were going to go Straight TO Hell and for all of those other occasions when Hell was an afterthought---- the "Fear of the Hand" usually did a good job at keeping me in check.
You had to mind your manners, respect your parents, and do what they told you to because if you didn't...you would probably get a "smack-check" to keep you in check. And it wasn't about abuse... I just knew if I didn't behave...I was gonna get smacked (and in the back of my mind I also knew that if I didn't try to be good that I would end up in Hell someday :) --)
Now today...I know that spanking is Taboo... and with my own child I was not a super strict disciplinarian as a parent ...but luckily with my son...he got his feelings hurt if I simply raised my voice at him and the few times I "swatted" him my older bro told me I did it like I was "dusting powder off of a doughnut"(Ironically the few times I swatted him was when he "scared" me--he chased a ball out into the street and could have been hit by a car etc) ....I even had my son convinced that if he didn't tell the truth that he would get "spots on his tongue"...I honestly can't believe how long that one worked LOL where my dad and I could tell him "Let me see if you're telling the truth---stick out your tongue!" But you know that saying of if you give your parents trouble...you will see them tenfold with your own children ? It really never happened with him..but it took him having a child to really "grow-up and step up to the plate" and I am very proud of him for doing that.
But back to me and knowing about the "fear of the hand" when I was a kid------ I seriously have never understood this "time-out" "sit-in-the-corner" stuff..because with me when I was a kid---it would have NEVER EVER WORKED... If my mom would have told me to behave or she would put me on "time-out in a corner" I would have been all----"YIPEE! I GET TO SPEND SOME MORE TIME TO HANG OUT AND CHAT WITH MY IMAGINARY FRIENDS!! JOYFUL JOYFUL I'M IN TROUBLE AGAIN WHOO-HOO"!!! And I seriously would have sat there spending that entire time-out thinking up new things I could try to do to get away with :) hee-hee. And I just think that when kids are being bad you don't leave them idle---you either keep them busy or you stop the bad behavior---don't sit them down and give them another TIME - OUT A.K.A.--"BREATHER"...crap they already "out energize" us at that point----why give them even more of an advantage??? LOL!
I don't know what happened in this "evolution" between "fear of the hand" and "time-outs"----all I know is that in our family business---kids come into the store running and jumping all over everything----and so many parents "ignore" the behavior or look to their spouse and say "do something" or feebly tell them "don't do that". These parents allow their children to run amok and wild and the parents have no clue what to do with them and they act like they are so stressed out because their children do not listen to them--then they simply send them off to school when they are of age and perhaps simply expect the teacher to teach their children well? My dad used to pinch "bad kids" in the store---I loudly tell them "Honey..you're gonna get hurt--please get down"----or hint hint --"Honey someone wants to buy this furniture please quit jumping on it--surely your parents don't let you act like this at home---Do I need to call the Furniture Police?" Anyways---my mom always said that kids never acted this way before and she swore it was something in the "water" that changed everything---seriously she would say things like..."I never took you kids or any of my grand-kids to a restaurant where they acted up and threw fits like this---it must be something in the water"...She always said "It must be something in the water".
So now maybe I am lucky----because I haven't developed a fear of something in the water yet LOL-----
But this "Fear" topic has many levels and layers and now let me get back to my "original" thoughts before I went out there into left field and added more "fear" aspects----
About 400 years ago it was Francis Bacon who actually said something like "Nothing is to be feared but fear itself"...and I think it really makes a lot of sense.
Let's see...one example---
I'm afraid of a spider....the spider might bight me...the spider might be poisonous...I might die from the poison----
but reality----you might come into contact with hundreds of spiders----maybe none of them will bight you...maybe the one who bights you will not be poisonous---maybe if the one who bights you is poisonous you will not even get sick much more die--
But you still fear spiders simply because something might happen and it is all speculation at this point because you simply don't know until you know and that's just the way life is.
My own FEAR example that has been heavily on my mind for several months has to do with the "waiting process" As women and also humans we take many tests...and in the past several years I have been informed that some of them are "abnormal"---At first I was so freaking scared just WAITING WAITING for the results that so far have been abnormal BUT later come back as "benign"..that I try to tell myself any more when I get these "call-backs" because they have found something "abnormal" that it's just because I am not a "normal" person LOL! But when I hear the word "Benign"...I swear--it is like I am hearing the best most wonderful word in the entire English language----and all of my worries and "fears" The What-ifs..the then-whats...the What-nows .....Those things are always pondered about "before" the waiting game has an answer-----we speculate and worry...
And I realize at this point in my life that maybe it is a good thing that I know I have in the back of my mind that someday I might just get some "bad news" so I need to try to live my life to its' fullest every day that I possibly can ....But in the overall picture---I still know that the only thing I ever knew for sure in this fear game was my own REALITY --- the "fear of the Hand"---if I didn't behave momma was gonna put me in check-----and that is truly the only fear that has ever been realized in my life at least up to this point-----everything else has simply been speculation...and anything else bad that happened was simply a "surprise"
(yes indeed I never saw it coming LOL !
And therefore never had time to worry about it :)
Does anyone else out there remember that old cartoon saying "Have No Fear Wonder Dog is Near !" I think this should be my new life motto.....Bring it on Wonder Dog----Bring it On... I dare ya hee-hee
