Oatmeal Encounters Of The First Kind

So I haven't been blogging much lately..and it's just a matter of having so many other things going on..but hey we all have a lot of things on our plates and today some little munchkin I know had more on her face than on her plate :=).  I have talked a bit about how I am involved in a family owned business and right now we are in the middle of "income tax" season.  We have 3 crazy busy months where people are spending their tax returns..and at this time of year I don't have a lot of extra time or energy to do much else :=) I am so thankful and happy that we are busy tho...I absolutely can not complain about that!
Today hubby and I went over to Kev and Sarahs' to watch little Chloe while they went out to test his new gun. Kev and Sarah were both suited up in their camoflauge  attire when we got there.  Kevins' had these little bushy leave thingies on it (and when they got back..Chloe kept patting him or maybe petting him..I wasn't sure. I told her that daddy was a tree and mommy was a bush... hee-hee.  )
Anyways when we walked in Sarah told me that she decided to let Chloe try eating on her own for the first time..and she was covered in oatmeal and simply having the time of her life.  I got the "Love you Mom..she needs a bath" C-Ya--- and away they went on their forest adventure .  Little Chloe will celebrate her first birthday in a few days and I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. 
At the top of my list of things I hope I never get...is Alzheimers... I hope I never ever forget the way I simply melt when this baby looks at me with those big blue eyes :=).....here are a few pics of my happy Sunday today....

Consistency Is The Key

Today I came across a bit of advice from business guru Donny Duetsch who was talking about branding in the digital age.  I consider myself too old to think about branding my product and I basically do my on-line stuff as a hobby...but for those younger people out there (or for people my age who are really serious about branding your product).....I think he had some very simple sound advice regarding this...
He says to "Be constant to who you are".....

And I think that is the one thing everyone should keep in mind who is starting up a business or might be starting up a business one day. 
Consistency is the key.....and if you brand yourself in one area you should also keep in mind how hard it will be to branch off into another area later on...but that is just another challenge that life has to offer hee-hee.

Sometimes Totally Unrelated Things Lead To Other Actions

So we had a wonderful Sunday brunch yesterday with Kevie and the girls.  Little Chloe is 9 months old and such a joy to be around and her big sis Lexie is such a "crack-up".  Anyways when Kev gave me his usual hug and said "I really love you Mom" I can't think of better moments in a persons' life than ones like these...where you really know that you have done something good :=)
So I get home and check my blog and see a post I made a few days ago. Now it wasn't malicious or slanderous or anything like that..I was simply stating the truths as I knew them from my experiences with this person..and actually she was the one who started the whole deal with her blog post about her "suspicions" and my bad karma yada yada.  Anyways..I removed the post.
And it wasn't like I suddenly had an epiphany or have gone super Holly Roller now or anything like that------ I just started thinking that for everyone out there that you don't like and for everyone out there who you think has done something wrong----there are also people out there who love this person and think they are great. (This gal is a mom and I'm sure her kids think she is great ya know?) And it's not like I will never again call-out someone who does something wrong to me or will never try to set the record straight when someone lies about me----I just think I will try to keep it in my mind more often that little fact "Someone out there loves this person it's just not me"

And I doubt if she even read the post but if she did maybe in the future she will think twice before stating "suspicions" about people and maybe she will simply try to be more "real".  And maybe not------:=)

Forgetter BE Forgotten

My Cuz sent me this little poem this morning and it didn't have the authors' name in the e-mail but I wanted to share it here.....think it has some "me" moments :=)

 

Forgetter Be Forgotten

My forgetter's getting better,
But my rememberer is broke
To you that may seem funny
But, to me, that is no joke

Or when I'm 'here' I'm wondering
If I really should be 'there'
And, when I try to think it through,
I haven't got a prayer!

Oft times I walk into a room,
Say 'what am I here for?'
I wrack my brain, but all in vain!
A zero, is my score.
At times I put something away
Where it is safe, but, Gee!
The person it is safest from
Is, generally, me!
When shopping I may see someone,
Say 'Hi' and have a chat,
Then, when the person walks away
I ask myself, 'who the hell was that?

Yes, my forgetter's getting better
While my rememberer is broke,
And it's driving me plumb crazy
And that isn't any joke.

When I look at this word I somehow picture some sort of turkey "innards"....like something sitting right next to the gibblet---
but turns out that

a chattering or flighty, light-headed person
